Bishop William Weigand meets with the Granite Bay community. He notes the support of the community and selects the new parish.
November 2003
Bishop Weigand grants the name "St. Joseph Marello Parish." Liturgical ministries are formed. Ours is the first parish to be so named after St. Joseph Marello was canonized in 2001.
January 1, 2004
The parish is officially established.
January 3-4, 2004
The first Masses are celebrated at the Cavitt Middle School Gym.
February 2004
The Parish Pastoral Council is formed. An important sub-committee is formed, the Building Committee. The first Pastoral Ministries are formed: Council 13518 Knights of Columbus, and Life Teen, our high school youth ministry.
2004-2011
Eighteen other ministries are formed. Masses continue in the gym.
March 2009
Capital Campaign begins.
May 30, 2011
On the Feast of St. Joseph Marello, our Groundbreaking Ceremony is held.
October 22, 2011
St. Joseph Marello Catholic Church is dedicated by Bishop Jaime Soto. Sealed into our altar are relics of:

The second phase of our Capital Campaign begins for the purpose of building a new Ministry Center, reducing our Parish debt, and supporting the Diocesan ONE Campaign.
