WHAT WE DO
The Team assists our Pastor in preparing engaged couples for the Sacrament of Matrimony. There are three aspects of our work:
- Each engaged couple is assigned a "Mentor Couple (Community Oriented)" who acts as a support team and advisors for the engaged couple throughout their journey to the Sacrament of Matrimony.
- The "Mentor Couple (Community Oriented)" works with the engaged couple by interpreting the results of the FOCCUS Inventory. The mentors guide the engaged couple in understanding what the inventory suggests about how the engaged couple can strengthen their relationship as they prepare for their wedding day.
- Two "Facilitator Couples (Catechists)" lead the engaged couple through an eight-hour study of the four core pillars of a strong marriage: faith, communication, sexuality and stewardship. They also inform the engaged couple of the Marriage Preparation Guidlines of the Diocese of Sacramento.
WHO WE ARE
The Team is composed of two "Facilitator Couple (Catechists)," who have been certificated in marriage preparation ministry, and five "Mentor Couples (Community Oriented)." All seven couples have been trained in interpreting the FOCCUS Inventory.
