SICK CALLS and HOSPITAL VISITATIONS

We kindly urge all our parishioners to please notify Fr. Paul directly by contacting him on his cell phone (916-952-8100) if someone is critically ill and in need of the sacraments.

We are grateful to the dedicated volunteers of our parish Homebound / Hospital Ministry, who make sure that elderly and sick parishioners are visited on a regular basis either at home or in a health care facility.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

The First Holy Communion for our parish Religious Education students took place on Saturday, May 11. Our parish is proud of the 63 children who prayerfully participated in the Mass.

Thank you to all who assisted with the First Holy Communion ceremony. Thank you, also, to the parents and catechists who helped prepare the children to receive the Mosty Holy Eucahrist. May they always stay close to Jesus!

WANTED

As the parish grows, we are always in need of Eucharistic Ministers (EEM's). What better way to serve and support our parish than by distributing Holy Communion to our fellow parishioners?

Following the response of the recent Ministry Fair, we have scheduled a training session for Saturday, May 18th, at 8:45AM after the morning Mass at 8:00AM. We will meet in the overflow room of the Church.

Anyone interested in being trained should contact their EM Mass coordinators, or Ron Kong at 916 786-2355 or eMail at rakongo@surewest.net.

Depending on the questions and discussion, our meeting should take approximately 2 to 2-1/2 hours.

Stewardship Steps

Seventh Sunday of Easter - Last Sunday's second reading contained the somber warning that Jesus is coming soon and will bring to each person the reward that his or her conduct deserves. Has your stewardship of the blessings entrusted to you be such that you could respond joyfully, "Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!"?

Year of Faith

October 11, 2012 – November 24, 2013

Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI has proclaimed a Year of Faith, from October 11, 2012 to November 24, 2013, the Solemnity of Christ the King. Pope Benedict explains how Catholics may receive special graces during this year: Year of Faith Indulgence.

Please join us on the first Thrusday of every month, at Mount St. Joseph, 6530 Wells Avenue, Loomis, in the Oblates of St. Joseph seminary chapel.

Parishioners are invited to join us as together we pray to the "Lord of the Harvest" to touch the hearts of our young people and have them consider giving themselves completely to Christ as a priest, religious brother/sister, or permanent deacon.

We pray in a special way for the Oblates of St. Joseph religious congregation, the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, and the Diocese of Sacramento.

Please pray every day that young men and women hear and respond generously to the Lord's call to the priesthood, diaconate, and religious life. Within your own family, support and encourage vocations to the consecrated life. Talk to your children and grandchildren of their role in God's plan.

Mount St. Joseph Seminary

Mount St. Joseph is well known to all our parishioners and friends. Located at 6530 Wells Avenue in Loomis (and the home of the Marello Youth Retreat Center), it is where future priests and brothers of the Oblates of St. Joseph prepare for ministry in the Church. Visit their website at mountstjoseph.org to view their calendar of events, including Mass times.

Pray for Vocations ... Let us pray daily that the Lord will send His holy Church many vocations, men and women who will devote their entire life to the worship of the Lord and to the service of His holy people as priests, brothers and sisters. Pray that all those called will be able to discern the Lord's will for them and then have the courage to follow with love and zeal. Pray for vocations from our parish!
